Brontie Maria Ansell

Brontie was named one of Vogue Business’ 100 Innovators of 2024 for her work as a sustainability thought leader. She is Managing Director of Lawyers for Nature and a leading voice on Rights of Nature. A former corporate law solicitor, she codesigned the groundbreaking 2022 Faith in Nature “Nature on the Board” initiative and served as Nature’s legal guardian for two years. She now sits
on several corporate and nonprofit boards, both as an expert and as ‘Nature’. Brontie co-founded Lawyers for Nature in 2019 with the barrister Paul Powlesland; she holds a first in Law and Management and a Master’s in Law of rights and responsibilities, and has lectured at the Universities of Sussex, Brighton, Grenoble, and latterly Essex, where she was an Associate Professor of Law.
