Kicking off Pixel, Bytes + Film 2025
On Monday, April 7, the International Screen Institute hosted the first workshop of this year’s Pixel, Bytes + Film edition – and what a start it was!
Outstanding projects by incredibly talented artists were introduced, each one offering a unique take on the intersection of moving image, digital technologies, and artistic storytelling.
A big thank you goes to Alicia Viertmann from Creative Europe Desk Austria and Antonia Rahofer and Helene Heiss from BMWKMS. Their input provided valuable insights into the Austrian funding landscape and support structures for artists working across disciplines.
Pixel, Bytes + Film, organised by the International Screen Institute and curated by Eva Fischer, has been a key initiative at the intersection of experimental film, gaming, and media art for more than a decade.
We are excited to accompany the artists as they continue shaping their projects throughout the year – and can’t wait to see where their ideas will lead.
