AI and the Film Industry: Industry Talk @ Business & Legal Affairs

Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping the creative industries, and filmmaking is no exception. From development and production to post-production and distribution, AI is beginning to influence how films are made, financed, and experienced.

Join us on 25 June 2026 for an evening of discussion, insight, and exchange exploring the impact of AI on contemporary filmmaking.

The event will open with a keynote address by Jeannette Gorzala, Founder & CEO of ACT AI NOW and Vice Chair of the Austrian Government’s AI Board, offering perspectives on the opportunities and challenges AI presents for the screen sector.

This will be followed by a conversation with filmmaker Georg Tiller (Subobscura Films), examining how AI is already affecting filmmaking practice today and what these developments mean for creators working in the industry.

We are also delighted to welcome Salma Abdalla from the Austrian Film Institute and Nicole Olympia Gustyn from Film in Austria, who will introduce their organisations and outline the support and opportunities available to the Austrian film community.
