Alumni Spotlight: Bartosz Bretes

Bartosz Bretes (BeHonest Films) participated in the Sustainability Management Programme in 2025. Real experiences create real impact – read what he shared with us.

“I decided to participate in the Sustainability Management programme at the International Screen Institute because I wanted to build my CV in this area and demonstrate my competencies to producers who would choose to implement green filming practices in Poland. However, taking part in the training inspired me to change the way I see my own role – from a passive observer diligently preparing for work, to someone who actively initiates change and shapes the market.

Shortly after the training, I took steps that led directly to the registration of the Film dla Klimatu Association. As a board member and coordinator of this organization, I am now working together with other organizations to establish a shared minimum standard for sustainable production in Poland. I have also been able to develop a strategy for the launch and growth of beHonest, a new Warsaw-based production company. I also know that in all of these efforts, I can count on the support of the people I met during the programme.

I would like to thank the entire ISI team for creating a space that goes far beyond professional training – one that brings together people genuinely committed to change and gives them the tools, confidence, and community to act on it.“
