At the European Film Market (EFM), Berlinale, the International Screen Institute presents AI Meets IP, a panel discussion exploring the growing impact of artificial intelligence on film development, production, and exploitation, with a particular focus on copyright and intellectual property law.

As AI tools become increasingly integrated into creative workflows, creators and producers are confronted with new legal, ethical, and contractual questions. This panel brings together legal experts and practitioners to examine how existing frameworks apply to AI-driven creative work — and where new challenges are emerging.

The discussion will be moderated by Andrea Elisa Pisu, Chairwoman of the International Screen Institute and Senior Legal Counsel at Terra Mater Studios (AT).

Among the panelists is Georg Tiller (Subobscura Films, AT), ISI Market Ready alumnus, who celebrates the world premiere of his latest film The Valley Where LOAB Lives in Forum Special at this year’s Berlinale. Building on his work The Promptus Manifesto, Tiller will share insights from his artistic practice at the intersection of experimentation, technology, and legal boundaries.

The panel is joined by Dr. Philipp Schiffmann, copyright and intellectual property expert at Unverzagt (DE), who will provide legal perspectives on rights protection, liability, and contractual implications in the context of AI-enabled creative processes.

AI Meets IP offers essential guidance for creators, producers, and industry professionals navigating the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and intellectual property in today’s screen industries.
